#StopAsianHate

I wanted to reach out and express my grief over the attacks in Georgia against Asian women, and the rise in racially motivated attacks on members of the AAPI community across the United States over the past year.

I wanted to share a few resources which may be of useful.

  • Today the House Committee on Judiciary Issues held an Emergency Hearing on Discrimination and Violence Against Asian Americans. You can watch that here:

https://judiciary.house.gov/calendar/eventsingle.aspx?EventID=4449

  • The AAJC- Asian Americans Advancing Justice, are providing virtual trainings for both bystanders who witness violence against Asian/Asian Americans, as well as training for Asian/Asian Americans when they experience hostility or an aggression. You can sign up for those here:

  • If you experience or witness a hate crime, please be sure to call 911, and report the incident to the Dallas Field Office of the FBI:

https://www.fbi.gov/contact-us/field-offices/dallas

  • At the State level, State Rep. Gene Wu has introduced a resolution condemning racism and violence against the AAPI community in Texas, HCR 66. Please contact your state representative and ask them to sign onto this resolution.

You can look up your state representative here:
